Broad injury a concern: Cook
Monday 12 September 2011

Injuries continue to dominate the England vs India series as all-rounder Stuart Broad succumbed to a tricep injury.

Right-armer Broad, bowling at the death of the innings, opted out of the action just two balls into his final over and left the field clutching the triceps muscles of his right arm.

Even England captain Alastair Cook is unaware of the extent of Broad’s injury.

"We don't know how Stuart is doing. The injury only happened a couple of hours ago," said England ODI captain Alastair Cook.

"He will go for a scan and we'll see how it settles down over the next 24 to 48 hours.

"He was padded up, ready to go. I'm not sure how effective he would have been, but with a few pain-killers he might have been all right."

"We don't know about Stuart yet. Let's wait for the results of the scan and how he pulls up - and cross all those bridges when we have to," concluded Cook.
