Monday 05 March 2012

Deccan Chargers have added five cricketers - Abhishek Jhunjhunwala, Atchuta Rao, Syed Ahmed Quadri, Veer Pratap Singh and Sneha Kishore - to their list of players for the fifth season of Indian Premier League.

Middle-order batsman Jhunjhunwala and right-arm pacer Veer Pratap represent Bengal in the first-class arena.

Veer Pratap, Hyderabad's batsman Quadri and left-arm Andhra fast bowler Atchuta Rao have been included into the squad after an impressive Ranji season.

The Chargers have also strengthened their spin department with the inclusion of Andhra's young left-arm spinner, Sneha Kishore.

Venkat Reddy, COO, Deccan Chargers said he was delighted with the inclusion of these five youngsters for the IPL season-5 commencing on April 4.

"Deccan Chargers is pleased to announce the addition of five talented players namely Abhishek Jhunjhunwala, Atchuta Rao, Syed Ahmed Quadri, Veer Pratap Singh and Sneha Kishore to our registered squad. Our focus is primarily to discover and groom young talent from the domestic circuit," said Reddy.

"These players will provide more depth and variety to the Deccan Chargers squad. We believe that their induction in the squad will add immense value to the team," he added.

Deccan Chargers turned the tide in their favour by winning the second season of the cash-rich Twenty20 league in 2009 in South Africa and making the semifinals of the IPL's 2010 edition.
