Dernbach aims to take postitives
Wednesday 09 November 2011

England pacer Jade Dernbach believes the experience of playing in India has made him a better cricketer.

The 25-year-old could take just one wicket in England's first three one-day games and was subsequently dropped for the last two games.

"It was disappointing to be dropped towards the end of the series but I've learnt a lot from the tour. There's times where things work in certain conditions and they don't work in others and it's up to me to learn what works when," he said.

"It was a tough tour results wise but it's essential we reap the benefits from it and come back stronger, especially with the World Cup being played in Sri Lanka," Dernbach told The Sun.

The Surrey paceman has so far played just in the short overs format of the game but he is hopeful to make the cut for Tests when England take on Pakistan for a three-match series .

"I'm looking forward to a little break now but am definitely excited about my cricket after Christmas.

Hopefully, fingers crossed, I can go on the Test tour to Abu Dhabi," he said.
