BCCI excludes RCA from domestic schedule
Sunday 24 August 2014

Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), currently suspended by the BCCI, could miss playing in the upcoming domestic season unless the two bodies, engaged in a legal fight over election of Lalit Modi, sort out the matter.

As per the domestic schedule finalised by the BCCI, RCA is not in the picture but things can be worked out quickly and the association included once the matter is settled, according to Board sources here on Saturday.

"An ad-hoc body has been formed by BCCI to run cricket affairs there but it has been opposed," they said.

Under the current circumstances, RCA cannot be fielded in the tournaments conducted by BCCI, the sources maintained.

"We know that the cricketers would suffer, but what can we do when there is no co-operation? We have to finalise the schedule and cannot wait for legal wrangles to end.

"But things can be worked out quickly to accommodate them, but for that to happen the matter (between RCA and BCCI) has to be sorted out," the sources said, adding the programme has already been sent out to the Board-affiliated units.

"It would be sent to the media soon," they added.

Rajasthan had won back to back Ranji Trophy titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

The RCA was suspended by BCCI after former IPL chief Lalit Modi was elected as its President on May 6. The matter is in the court now.
