Mamata Banerjee felicitates Ravikant Singh, Sandipan Das

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday felicitated state cricketers Ravikant Singh and Sandipan Das, who were part of the Indian team that won the ICC U-19 World Cup in Australia, with Rs two lakhs each.

Ravikant and Sandipan, accompanied by Cricket Assoaciation of Bengal joint secretary Biswaroop De, called on the chief minister at the state secretariat.

The chief minister gave a reward of Rs 2 lakh each to the U-19 cricketers and wished them success.

Ravikant presented the the ball with which he got the maximum wickets in the tournament to the chief minister.

Soon after the U-19 World Cup final last month, Banerjee congratulated the Indian U-19 cricket team for becoming World Champions for a third time.

On their return here from Australia last month, West Bengal Sports Minister Madan Mitra had congratulated them with a token gift of Rs 25,000 and a gold chain.
