Friday 01 March 2013

Kerala`s most promising youngster, Sachin Baby, was on Friday signed up by Rajasthan Royals for the upcoming IPL season.

Baby hails from the state`s Idukki district and has been a consistent performer for Kerala in the recent past in junior and senior levels. He was among the top run-getters in the invitational Buchi Babu Tournament and Vijay Hazare Trophy for Kerala.

A left-handed batsman cum off-spinner besides being an agile fielder, Baby caught the eyes of the Royals team management during the IPL selection trials held at Rajasthan.

Baby was the vice-captain of the Kerala Ranji trophy team last season and has also been selected for the Deodhar Trophy South Zone team after his consistent performance in the Hazare trophy.
