Tremlett could miss 2nd Test
Thursday 28 July 2011

English paceman Chris Tremlett could miss the second Test in Nottingham due to fitness concerns. The giant fast bowler missed training on Wednesday due to a stiff back and sore hamstring after his exertions in the first Test at Lord’s.

"The giant Surrey paceman missed training on Wednesday with a tight hamstring and England fear he will not recover in time," a report in the Daily Mail said.

"Tremlett also has a stiff back after his exertions in the dramatic first Test victory at Lord's," the report added.

If Tremlett fails to gain match fitness, Tim Bresnan can replace him in the final XI. Bresnan is a part of the 12-man squad announced by ECB for the second Test.

Tremlett had taken four wickets, including three in first Indian innings, in the first Test at Lord's.
