Pathan hopes for India comeback
Thursday 15 September 2011

India’s forgotten man Yusuf Pathan has yet another stage to prove his mettle on the international stage and the 28-year-old is confident of finding his form in the CLT20 qualifiers.

"I want to perform well. My endeavour would be to do well so that the team benefits and reaches the final," he said in a media interaction ahead of the qualifying round of this year's CLT20.

Pathan, who is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the CL T20, felt that a good performance would help him in finding a place in the Indian cricket team.

"Obviously, CLT20 is a big tournament. Top club teams of many countries are competing. The better I perform in Champions League, I believe, the better my performance would be, greater would be my chances of a comeback," he said.

Asked if he was surprised that he did not get a call when replacements have been made during India's tour of England, he said: "These things can happen. But it's not the be all and end all. I hope there will be more opportunities if I keep performing."

"The way I batted earlier, I don't think I am lacking in something. If there are any shortcomings, I will try to rectify. I will continue to try to improve myself," he revealed.
