MCA awaits BCCI's reply on final switch
Tuesday 13 May 2014

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) got in touch with Sunil Gavaskar, the interim president of the BCCI for IPL affairs, on Monday regarding the reasons for the change in venue of the IPL-7 final from the Wankhede stadium, Mumbai, to the Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore.

MCA Joint Secretary Nitin Dalal said: “(MCA) president Sharad Pawar and vice-president Ravi Savant had discussions with BCCI and IPL officials. They assured us that their reply to our letter asking for the reasons for moving the final without intimating us will reach us by Tuesday. Depending on what the reply is, the managing committee will decide our future course of action.”

“It was also decided that we will not hamper any of the Mumbai Indians matches. We have no problem with them,” Dalal added.

MCA held a managing committee meeting on Monday to apprise its members about the situation. It is learnt that IPL chairman Ranjib Biswal will submit a reply to the MCA.
