IPL's latest ''conflict of interest''
Wednesday 22 April 2015

According to a report in The Indian Express, Ankita, younger daughter of the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) chief advisor, Neeraj Kumar, is linked with three companies promoted by IPL governing council chairman Rajeev Shukla’s wife Anurradha Prasad.

Ankita, a screenplay writer, is a director in E24 Glamour Limited in the Registrars of Companies (ROC) filed by the company for the financial year ended March 31, 2014. She was also listed as a director in two other companies – Skyline Radio Network Limited and News24 Broadcast India Limited, promoted by Anurradha, the report claimed.

According to Prasad, “It is true that Ankita held the position of director in three companies of which I am also a director. However, she has since resigned.”

While Rajeev Shukla also claimed that Ankita used to work for companies promoted by his wife four years ago, ROC records showed that Ankita was a director of Skyline Radio Network Ltd in June 2013 and held a similar position with News24 Broadcast India Ltd till March 31, 2013.

In a recent ''conflict of interest", the Supreme Court had to intervene to stop former BCCI president N Srinivasan from recontesting board elections, as he held a good amount of stake in the IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings.
