Rajasthan referees excluded from domestic season
Monday 25 August 2014
Following the exclusion of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) from the domestic cricket season, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also made it clear that the match referees from the state would not be allowed to officiate in the upcoming domestic season.

According to a BCCI official, “As per the rule, each state has to send the names to the BCCI. The RCA, however, didn’t send any names so they will be not allowed to officiate in the upcoming season. We will have nearly two weeks of seminars for match referees and the board has allotted 25 members in groups of five. As RCA are suspended, they will not allowed to take part in any of BCCI activities.”

Although the match referees have been suspended, the BCCI official has claimed that other officials from the state, such as umpires and video analysts will be able to participate.

“We have an umpire’s committee that nominates officials for the domestic season. They directly come under the board’s banner. So even if an umpire hails from Rajasthan, he need not to worry about the suspension to his board. The BCCI will allow them them to participate,” the source added.
