Mudgal panel submits interim report
Thursday 28 August 2014

Justice Mudgal committee submitted its interim report on the IPL spot fixing to Supreme Court in a sealed cover, which will be opened by a special bench in the apex court on September 1.

The hearing in the matter is scheduled for October 1. It is believed that former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has also recorded his views.

The committee report had mentioned about the involvement of N Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, in betting and leaking confidential match-related information in the IPL. Three players from IPL teams Chennai Super Kings and two each from Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians also figure in the confidential report submitted by the Mudgal panel.

Justice Mudgal had investigated the IPL 2013 betting and spot-fixing scandal too after the Supreme Court asked him to. The apex court had turned down BCCI panel's request and had asked Mudgal to investigate.
