PIL on behalf of 75 Rajasthan players
Friday 19 September 2014

The Rajasthan High Court has issued notices to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) after 75 players from the state approached the court and filed a writ petition for being denied a chance to play in the domestic season.

The petition moved by Nikhil Doru, was signed by about more than 75 players. They complained that despite being short-listed by the RCA for various competitions they were unable to participate in any of the national competitions as the BCCI suspended the RCA after Lalit Modi became the RCA president.

Subir Gupta and Sachin Metha, the counsels for the petitioners, argued that the players did not have anything to do with the dispute and keeping them away from the domestic competitions was unjust.
