Nehra likely to be fit for IPL
Saturday 09 March 2013

Veteran left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra is slowly recuperating from a surgery on his left knee and is expecting to be fit in time before the start of the sixth edition of Indian Premier League.

The 33-year-old Nehra went to London for the surgery and has returned to India two weeks back.

"It`s now nearly five weeks that I have undergone surgery on my left knee. I am feeling a lot better now," Nehra, who will be representing Delhi Daredevils in the IPL starting April 3, told PTI today.

Nehra played in a few Ranji Trophy games for Delhi but after that he did not play for the state side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and will also miss the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.

"I have started running for the past 10 days and it will take me another 10 days to start bowling with full run-up. Right now, I am just rolling my arms over. I couldn`t have played Mushtaq Ali T20 as it was too early. I am hoping that I will be fit before the start of IPL. In any case, I hope to play the warm-up matches for Daredevils," the veteran pacer said.

Meanwhile, discarded opener Virender Sehwag is likely to turn up for Delhi in Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy as it would give him the perfect platform to get into the groove before the Indian Premier League.
