India Test cap is my dream: Rahane
Saturday 24 September 2011

Promising right-handed batsman Ajinkya Rahane impressed one and all during the England series but the 23-year-old is not looking too far ahead.

"To play for India is ultimate dream of any cricketer and I am no different. You get the recognition as a player only after doing well in Test cricket. However, at the moment I am not thinking too much about the future.

I will try to give my best in the Irani Trophy. I have always enjoyed batting in the longer format," Rahane told The Times of India after he was selected for the Irani Trophy.

After showing a lot of promise Rahane knows that the real challenge now lies ahead. "At this level, I know I have to be consistent but that's what I have learned in the last five-six years." he revealed.
