Monday 11 March 2013

A special court on Monday took cognisance of the chargesheet filed by Mumbai police in Juhu rave party case, in which IPL player Rahul Sharma and actor couple Apoorva Agnihotri and Shilpa Agnihotri are among the accused.

The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act court issued "process" on Monday and the accused are likely to appear before the court on March 25.

"There is a prima-facie case against accused persons," observed the special judge IM Bohari.

The police had raided a party at Oakwood May hotel in suburban Juhu in May last year and rounded up 86 people for alleged consumption of drugs.

On March 6, the police filed 1,200 pages of chargesheet against 86 people. Thirty-five of them, including South African cricketer Wayne Parnell, are shown as wanted accused.
